JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Purposefully and consistently conduct themselves within the structure of the guiding principles and mission statement of the Shyft Group DuraMag.
  • To communicate effectively with all team members including cross-functional teams, internal customers and with external suppliers and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
  • Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production and ensures quick implementation of corrective actions if there is a failure in the flow of materials.
  • Leads all inventory activities; including validation, settlement, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Lead and manage physical inventory and cycle counting activities
  • Lead negotiation of agreements for prices of raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
  • Manage and provide direction for sourcing agent(s) assigned to specific commodities.
  • Responsible for achieving cost savings goals.
  • Responsible for supplier performance goals, including part quality and on-time delivery goals to support operational and financial needs of the company.
  • Manage team member activities including, but not limited to, time off requests, timecard approvals, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
  • Supports and monitors department budget. Manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
  • Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factory and develops visual factory material signaling
  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
  • Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
  • Participates with any product development, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
  • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Four-year degree required in business management or supply chain management.
  • Five years materials leadership in complex materials and supply management environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to do complex cost analysis thinking to supply value chains.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in negotiating skills.
  • Specific strong background in the management and development of the planning, logistics and inventory control processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
  • Strong analytical problem solving, and mathematical skills. Ability to extract conclusions from available data and "tell a story".
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Understands Lean and 5S
  • Proficient on ERP/MRP, MSMicrosoft Office Suite and PC network applications MRPII/ERP systems.
  • Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
