Overview

If you enjoy working in the wood and metal shop and want to create trade show exhibits for clients across the U.S., becoming a Fabricator at Morley could be a great career move for you!

 

You’ll work in our spacious and up-to-date shop/warehouse in Saginaw, Michigan, and travel for shows and other needs. Tasks include exhibit design, construction, inspection, packing, shipping, setup and tear-down.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Fabricate/refurbish exhibit components and crates for projects and events
  • Help with design specifications for exhibit components
  • Recommend the best construction materials and methods to accomplish objectives
  • Help with vendor negotiations/purchasing as directed
  • Stage exhibit properties for inspection and preview
  • Maintain organization for all tools and equipment in the fabrication area
  • Retrieve, assemble, inspect, prepare and pack exhibit components, parts, samples and miscellaneous items for show preview
  • Outbound shipping
  • Provide warehousing and exhibit property inventory support
  • Use our digital asset planning portal for inventory and shipping activities
  • Define component packaging, crating, dimensions and weights. Provide to the shipping department for estimating/shipping.
  • Serve as forklift operator as needed
  • Repair or remodel corporate facilities as needed
  • Post-show pick-up
  • Transport miscellaneous items and collateral to/from client locations if delivery personnel are not available
  • Travel to various show locations help with setup or on-site show supervision as required and scheduled by Operations Supervisor
  • Help the Operations Supervisor reconcile vendor invoices
  • Inspect returning items for damage
  • Repair damaged components or arrange for repair prior to re-inventory

Eligibility Requirements

  • Experience with trade show booths and assembly
  • Ability to travel when required
  • Strong expertise, industry knowledge and job-related experience considered in lieu of educational requirements

Nice to Have

  • Associate’s degree
  • Formal trade school training
  • 5+ years’ experience in all areas of finish carpentry, including laminates
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and electrical applications
  • Chauffeurs driver license (This position may require vehicle driving responsibilities. Should business needs require, management will explore opportunities to make sure appropriate qualifications are in place.)
